I was awoken to fireworks Friday night and thought they might have been from the Balloon Festival because I read in the paper fireworks for the Blaine House celebration were suppose to be August 16. Now I have some very tired children because they were awoken last night as well; and tonight they are disappointed that there were no fireworks. Care to be in my place as my two year old says "But mom you promised". It broke my heart. I wish the event had been better advertised. We went to the State Museum today for it's events...it is sad that the Governor's office could not have spent a little time trying to get AUGUSTA residents proud of where they live. All we saw at the Museum was a tour group from Canada and some Japenese couples. Again all I can say is sad.report abuse

It would have been nice if this would of been advertised better. More people could have enjoyed the fireworks. If the government is going to use our taxes to have a beautiful display of fireworks they should invite the people of maine to this show.report abuse
