Why does Farrington need an assistant principal? None of the city's other elementary schools have an assistant. Seems to me that there are lots of new hires...that means others have left positions in the school system. Why are they all leaving if Augusta is such a great place to workreport abuse

The new administrators were three of many new hires, including a dozen teachers, approved by the board Wednesday night.

So that is whay it was so important for this year's school budget to pass.....spread the wealth around by hiring additional staff.

Next year will come. Fool us once......shame on us.report abuse

When there is NO MONEY, there should be no fluff programs. Until the kids at all schools nationwide are performing well on tests, monies should be spent on academics. In the 70's, the education philosophy switched from core courses to electives, other fluff & student "rights." We see where that has gotten us nationwide.

Parents can use their time with their kids to play Rock, Paper, Scissors. There is the YMCA, church, youth groups & other organizations that can help kids w/ non-academics. When money is tight, academics should be the center of education.report abuse
