Izzy of Augusta, ME - So tell me/us why the city should help the landlords winterize their rental properties??? When a landlord takes on that role it is his/her responsiblity to keep them up to code and maintain them just like any other home owner. But then again some of the people that rent them have no respect for other peoples property and destroy them faster than they can be maintained. Just take a ride down Mount Vernon Avenue and see the rentals that look like they could fall at any moment.report abuse

Too bad we weren't all born with a silver spoon in our mouth like Roger was, but then again I've always noticed that money always seems to influence things in life and that those who have it seem to see things differently in life than those who don't.

It's hard for some people to admit the existence of fascism and Nazis in government, especially when one's career and lifestyle has been made prominent and affluent by working hand in hand with them and catering to their desires and demands in life.report abuse

I think the Mayor wrote a good letter and he provides a forum, at meetings in the library for example, for residents to vent their frustrations instead of some of the personal attacks displayed here. He's not getting rich working for the city and it's as much YOUR city as it is his, so I suggest you all get personally involved and discuss your issues face-to-face.report abuse

Roger Katz you know you're not doing a great job when you're the one patting yourself on the back. I noticed your friend didn't write the article to say that he thought you were doing such a great job.
Maybe you can get a few more large chain type stores to open on your already overcrowded rotaries you can completely drive everyone away from the downtown area, and towards your more favored hot spot box stores and run all of the "little guys" out of town.report abuse
