ah thelma from mainepetlaw how nice to hear you. i think the pet owners take more cruelty and mental abuse which is not humane from people who just dont understand. there are people that actually take care of several pets to the best of the ability. those pets are like family. remember mark hagelin and his dogs the fight he put up. she has his spirit. i hope mark is still around to see this. more and more people are sticking up for their pets.report abuse

Im not saying that this women is in the right, as i stated earlier i think she just got in over her head. But I gotta say that if we showed humans as much compassion as has been shown to these animals in the comments here today, this world wouldnt be that bad a place. It says something of our times when there is absolutely no support or help or compassion unless your a four legged animal covered in hair. Again, just my opinionreport abuse

Doug of Unity, Have you heard about LD2010? It is an attempt to limit the number of breeding animals a person can own and force unrealistic regulations on anyone breeding dogs or cats.
And to address others that keep saying that Fern's place was filthy I remember Worley saying to the news crew(on camera the day of the raid) that they found evidence of feces. What would that be? Either there is feces or there isn't. And since when is it illegal for dogs to defecate!!! If a person is feeding and watering the dogs then there will be feces and urine. In these cases the animal welfare workers always say there was no food and no water..well if that was true there would be no feces and urine. So which was it??? No food or no feces and filth and can't have it both ways.
