I went to Canada a few years ago.
In the back of my pick up truck was a cardboard box with a few returnable bottles and cans.
The border guard asked: Why are you bringing bottles and cans into Canada??
I said, with a smile, and thinking he was kidding, ... "so I can litter".
He wasn't amused and pulled me over and confiscated the offensive "litter".report abuse

I hope these littering comments are jokes. It was not her intention to litter, and intention is what the law is all about. Littering is intentional when you make a concious decision not to dispose of your waste in a trash receptical. This was a little girl conducting a simple experiment. I am sure the boys who found the bottle thought it was pretty cool. Kind of like pirates and stranded sailors marooned on islands somewhere, it really sparks the imagination.report abuse

What is the statute of limitations on littering?

If rape is 5 years, I've got to believe littering is less...although...I've heard far more stranger things in Maine.report abuse
