Can we get over ourselves and our architectural creations enough to quit naming them? Can't we have the new bridge, the old bridge, the bridge we had made last?????report abuse

Healing and reconciliation are possible when people work together to correct wrongs from the past.

Changing the name of the bridge is an excellent idea, not only for the healing of the victims who have suffered beyond the capacity of our imaginations, but also for the Catholic community. Keeping the name keeps the issue alive and festering. Nobody moves on when the name of the perpetrator is present in our day to day lives.

I have had visitors ask for the story behind the naming of the bridge, and I tell them.

Maybe the name of the bridge can be changed to the Peace Bridge. That would be my wish for the survivors who lost their innocence at too young of an age.report abuse
