Hey Cecil,
well the story is an allegory of christian belief written by an anglo saxon during the end of the British Imperial period. Nonetheless the race thing is kind of shakey. In fact the nemesis of the first movie and book in order of wrtiting and of the series as a whole is the "white witch". This is more anti pagan then aryan racist. That being said it is now basically a comming of age adventure story. Having read Lewis' other works I feel confident in saying that if alive today he would have no problem with a racially diverse human cast that reflected the Britain of today. His non human cast is pretty diverse and race is not a definer of good vs. evil. The reason the original human charecters were also white brits is that that is where it was set. At least he had the excuse that at the time of his writing over 95% of the persons in the real world backdrop of the story were "white". Didn't start off to write so much sorry for the length.report abuse
