People that don't believe in your god have no morals, values, respect or the ability to care for others?
I don't have any morals, "values this world is losing, respect for oneself and each other, belief in the good, caring for the orphans and widows" unless I believe?
This is a great example of the cult brainwashing that causes you to make such ridiculous statements.
Stop trying to put your absurd beliefs in the schools.
And stop your ranting.report abuse
Jesus walked on water, and Peter once, walking toward Jesus, but he fell into the sea when his faith wavered. Your soul lives for eternity whether you believe or not. If you believe, you live in the presence of God, if not, you live outside His presence. I'm not going to get into a peeing contest with you about the lake of fire. I don't care. It would be enough to be in darkness for eternity.
The Bible is not based on superstition, Jack. We've been through that. You know, you might consider that BECAUSE the men who wrote God's Word had no knowledge of 21st Century science their minds were not cluttered by pompous, self-righteous arrogance, but rather they wrote their experiences with Jesus and the Apostles with a clarity you and I couldn't possible comprehend.
Fear death? Never have, even before I became Christian and was railing like you. None of the sources you use to slam Christianity worked, Jack. It was kind of like pouring water through a sieve. Jesus, however, brings living water which never leaves us thirsty.
Not brainwashed, Jack, as you have been. Washed clean. Big difference.
And Christianity SHOULD be taught in schools. Morals, Jack, and values this world is losing, respect for oneself and each other, belief in the good, caring for the orphans and widows.
See, Jack, the problem with those who think and rant like you is you haven't really studied the Word of God, apparently, so you miss the total message, preferring to apply a meat cleaver to that which you don't understand. I won't say you've been brainwashed by a cult, Sir. I will say you have been mortally deceived by the father of lies, and that is to your eternal peril. However, it will be my great joy to pray for you, that you may come to know the saving grace and healing power of Jesus, Son of the only Creator and the Living God.report abuse
You are certainly entitled to your opinion on if there is a "source".
Do you take these stories literally?
Or are they metaphors?
People still claim that god speaks to them.
Walk on water? Parting of the sea?(How did they get through the mud? Or was that dried up too? Yep, god must have made a road bed for them too..) Your "soul" lives for eternity if you "believe"? And if you don't there is a "hell' awaiting you? God made many people who do not beleive your Jesus was a son of your god and had godlike powers. 100's of millions of buddists, atheists..
The bible is based on superstition, it's silly, and as someone said on here, it was written by men who had no awareness of science and thought the earth was flat!
You have been brainwashed by a cult, sir.
If it makes you feel better and eases your fear of dying, so be it.
Just keep your religious beliefs out of the public school curriculum.report abuse
If you are using the former Reverand Spong as a source, you are aware that he is a member of an anti-Jesus group of alleged laity calling themselves "The Jesus Seminar". They are an ultraliberal fringe wing of Christianity that seeks to dismantle, for some reason, the deity of Christ.
Several of your points are suppositions, worthless in the face of comments in the Bible such as John's "...and we are witnesses....". There are many direct references to interchange between Jesus and the apostles. Are you aware that scribes wore clay tablets on belts around their tunics, and would write observations and conversations in the clay, then transcribe it, wipe the clay clean, and start again? Early reporters, Jack. Eyewitnesses to the events. As to those statements of Jesus being 'alone'....his life was continually being threatened. It is doubtful that the Apostles ever left him alone for very long.
You appear well read in the arguments against Christianity. Your sources are as biased an antiChrist as you are. Try reading some Apologists for Christianity. Lee Strobel, for one. A former atheist who set out to prove Jesus and God were myths. He couldn't, didn't, and came to believe.
Sorry, Jack, it isn't myth, it isn't fairy tales, no matter how much evil has wormed it's way into Christian so called theology. Spong? He was discredited by most mainstream and conservative theologians and practioners quite some time ago, revealed as a fraud.
Go to the source, Jack. Suspend the lies you've been told. Read the Word of God with an open mind, not the liberal ravings of 20 and 21st century dismantlists. God's Word is Truth, Jack, and the truth shall set you free of your worldly baggage, and you will come to know everlasting life with the creator of all things.report abuse
