Camp Laurel is a great place for this part of the state. They create a lot of summer jobs in the summer and everything they do is top notch. So what if it's so called rich spoiled kids who come in. Like Yankee said, these kids may come back to Maine to vacation and spend their hard earned (or inherited) money here. I know that stretch of road and is a bad spot. People go extremely fast. The camp is on both sides of the road, so the employees are constantly crossing back and forth. Just a matter of time before some yahoo runs someone over.report abuse

THE TUNNEL IS A GREAT IDEA, IF THE CAMP PAYS THE EXPENSE THEN WHY NOT. CAMP LAUREL IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST!report abuse

biker good point...as we know having kids spend their summer in maine is great for the economy...
that tunnel could be very expensive...
i don't know the traffic on the road they cross....but they could install a predesdrian walk way with lights...some what like they have a bowdoin collage
