I am delighted Slates has re-opened and it has been nice to read about the updates. Save me a table because I visit your "quaint" town every few months and it will be wonderful to be able to be at Slates again :)report abuse

Now just calm down ,the city its homes on the hills and the rest of the area realy does look good.It looks better than most.It is the down town, the riverfront that could be one real nice spot.Start with getting rid of the eyesore.report abuse

A certain someone moved to Largo, Fl in the 60's was and still is Hallowell's gain and Largo's loss! Poor Largo! Why tear it down? People are still coming here! As a matter of fact, more people have been coming to Hallowell since one certain fish left for Largo, Fl. I wonder why that is! Hmmm! Very interesting observation!report abuse

This just in the kitchen floor has been cleaned. And we have no pics of workers picking thier nose! And everyone states Slates food is good.I am very happy for you.But your downtown is still ugly, very ugly. Not just old like other downtowns.Kind of like the hemroids of Augusta.Your riverfront should be leveled,go to the river and look at it and across ,up and down but be carefull when you turn around you may want to puke. That area could be turned into a real place to market ,its a shame the river has not taking them roids. Please note i am happy for you Slates fans and the Slates also.Your downtown is as ugly as when i had to live there in the 60s.No ones falt but change it.Tear it down they will come.report abuse
