This is good news as we have a beautiful waterfront in Hallowell that has not been used for a long time, mostly because the paper companies polluted the river so badly.

But I do worry that Hallowell is spending more than they used to, and they are going to drive property taxes up. While they are spending, are they making plans to help those who are more concerned with heating their house than a kayak launch?report abuse

Could everyone join in and pave the street in front of the Blaine House or as an alternative, tax rebates for front end alignments and ball joint replacements. And I approve this message.report abuse

It would be real nice if you could get rid of them ugly downtown buildings so one may see the river.report abuse

Thanks, Lameduck,

The photo of the cloud of dust is not an anomaly; this is the routine scene during "Spring Cleaning" around here.

The substantial health hazard is easily avoided and practices like this should be outlawed and the laws enforced.report abuse
