This is what happens when you allow your state government to have a budget spread over two years. You have Beth Edmonds, spending the time telling us, as she did several weeks ago that "If she were in charge, she would have taxed us again." to cover the 190 million dollar shortfall.

When do you people in this state EVER, EVER, going to wake up. This idea of a bi-ennial budget (2 years), didn't work with McKernan (R), King (I), or Baldacci (D).

Ask your Legislators about this, regardless of political party, and they just take off for the door.

Bottom Line: We pay these people, during hard times as this, and yet this is what we get for it. Regardless, Republican, Democratic, and Independent, they cannot create a budget that doesn't require additional appropriations.

Yet, like Hannah (the mother of all taxes) Pingree, whose mamma is running for Congress wants you to vote for her mother, while she left the session, taxing your potato chips, and coke at your next BBQ. Mamma Pingree will do the same.

Next the Pingrees will have us eating twigs and treebark, and taxing us on that too!

Yet, they all want your vote. Well, your time wasn't well spent, and time for you to go.

As for you Governor 38%....smarten up. Your party wishes you to pave the way for the 4 years afterwards. This session was a joke, your legacy hangs in the balance, and you aren't making it!

We deserve better, and demand better, and Governor, and your pals, get this straight...wake up or get out!report abuse

THE GOOD NEW HERE:

"Senate President Beth Edmonds, D-Freeport, and House Speaker Glenn Cummings, D-Portland -- the recently completed session marks the end of their legislative careers.
At least for two years.

Both are subject to the state's term limits law."

HERE'S THE BAD PART:

A QUOTE FROM EDMUNDS..."I grew up in a small town of 500 people, so the Statehouse often feels like home -- we are like a small town. We see each other every day and work together in a very special way."

I DON'T ANY OF THESE BONEHEADS GETTING THE FEELING THAT THE STATEHOUSE FEELS LIKE HOME.

THE SPECIAL WAY they work together is their unashamed theft of our hard earned pay.

GOOD RIDDENS TO BAD RUBBISH! I HOPE WE NEVER HAVE TO SEE THE LIKES OF YOU TWO AGAIN!report abuse

Unfortunately we cannot drive a stake through the heart of these two financial vampires who suck our wallets dry. They'll each be back after the required two-year hiatus, ready to tax and spend again.report abuse

It's time for them to head into the private sector and see how badly they have screwed things up while in the palace.report abuse
