anameutrust, you've forgotten to include the federal dollars for the portion of that 14,000 that are covered under the MaineCare expansion that came with Dirigo.

If we want to ignore those people then it works out to what? about 7,000 people on a DirigoChoice policy? So hard to get straight numbers out of the Dirigo Board on how many people are in the MaineCare expansion and how many people are on a DirigoChoice policy so don't take me to the bank on that 7,000. Could be a lot less.report abuse

UncleT's tossin' numbers,
"When will he smarten up and let go of it? 14,000 bodies covered at a cost of over 50 million dollars? Where did he go to college?"

50,000,000 / 14,000 = ~3,600
$3,600 / 12 months = $300 / month

Heck, admissions at the public university, the community college, or the hair styling school would recognize basic whole number division skills as a reasonable prerequisite.

Caribou isn't that far from Fort Kent or Presque Isle. If T's children can surpass pops they should find academic opportunity close to home.

Whether they choose to stay there is another question.report abuse

One question for Sen. Martin

Would you be more irritated if the paper ran a very truthful and accurate article detailing the reversal of the Democrats position on insurance market reform. An article that clearly and unequivicibly showed that the Republicans have been right on health insurance for all these years and the Democrats have cost the hard working families of Maine untold millions of dollars in health insurance costs.

Would that have been more acceptable to you Sen. Martin?

You can read Sen. Martin's press release at www.politickerme.com

I don't know what kind of math they use up at the state house but I always thought 100% increase was less than a 10% increase. I also thought that no tax was less than any tax. But like I said, maybe the state house has their own version of math that us mere mortal voters don't understand.report abuse
