"I am just purely there to help the people in this community . . .", says Mr. Fletcher. What a crock. He has been fighting this dam removal from the beginning for his own self interests, and he most likely sought out the 35 individuals who "joined" in this appeal. One wonders what he offered them for their support. His ego has already cost the town, and the state taxpayers millions just so he can look at “his” lake, i.e. the Sebasticook impoundment. As one of those taxpayers, and lifelong Republican, I find Mr. Fletcher’s actions repugnant. It should be noted that the Shore land Ordinance referenced did not exist when this project was started, in fact, it appears to have only been adopted last July.

As for the chromium issue, if it is present in the impoundment, it is already leaching into the river and polluting all the waters downstream. If it such a problem DEP and EPA should fine the town for accumulating it in the impoundment..report abuse
