Wow, who are they kidding? Why should they be worried about inconveniencing Mainer's at the airports? That's such a moot point. Everybody knows that after paying CMP electric bills and fuel bills all winter no one has any money left over to fly anywhere! LOLreport abuse

Again with this budget and funding. Maine perceives itself as such an independent, radical state. If they really wanted to prove their reputation for being radical and improve the economy at the same time the legislators would legalize and tax marijuanna. (I assume they'd want to pass that same law about the not smoking in the car with the kids ... or whatever at the same time ... I think that's important). But think of the economic boon that would create.

I think Maine should "hold out" and fight the Feds on this issue. Perhaps Maine will get a reputation among illegal immigrants for being the only state were they can find santuary, instead of just coming here to obtain a valid drivers license, they'll end up staying in Maine. Then we'll have people that actually work to support the economy to balance out all the people who are on welfare. Plus it will increase the states dwindling population exodus.report abuse
