We have NO leadership in Augusta. We need SOMEONE to stand up and say, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!"
The legislature is hand wringing over budget problems. Woe is me, we must do something about the budget.
Then they go and waste time and resources on legislation:
-Novelty cigarette lighters
-Increase penalties for non use of seat belts
-Stiffen the smoking ban of individuals in their own vehicles
-Rasing cigarette taxes
-Banning energy drinks (It didn't pass but time and money was wasted on this ridiculous idea)
-An act to protect children from toxic chemicals (Aren't there already federal laws on this?)
And it goes on and on.
Please, Agusta! WAKE UP. Stop spending OUR money! No more new LAWS! Cut programs. Cut YOUR pay. Start spending some of YOUR money for health care, like the rest of the people of Maine.
Maine is one of the highest (and headed for THE highest) taxed state in the United States.
Please think about this when you VOTE for people representing you in Augusta.report abuse
But make no mistake; the day is coming.
But not today.
Who cares about the taxes? My sister remains alive despite the inevitable.report abuse
