It's time for the naysayers to trot out the losing local control and we don't need the State butting into our affairs arguments.

Truth be told, these are more the call for keeping the status quo because of a fear that the new code will require a level of regulation that fits what's happening in society and Maine today. There have been advances in materials and techniques which benefit the customer, but, there are people contracting for work who are unaware of what should be provided. Many contractors are also unaware of the better options to offer. A skilled craftsman and honest businessman makes a better case for his services by assuring the customer compliance with a higher standard.

Creating uniformity never hurts. The fact there's a NATIONAL Electrical Code already speaks to adopting a wider standard.report abuse
