As someone who lives in the neighborhood of where the new Hannaford will be built, I say it's about freaking time.

And those of you complaining about the traffic issue, did any of you pay attention to the traffic jam when Cony was located there?

I fail to see what Bangor St becoming one lane has to do with the new Hannaford (it's virtually one lane now since driving the other lane is like driving the surface of the moon), nor does traffic on Eastern Ave (Eastern Ave ends at the light up by Hospital St, folks). Some of you just seem to want to whine for the sake of whining.report abuse

Ladies and gentlemen - what we have learned from this article today is that anyone can manipulate anything legal or not to their own agenda.

What do we expect from money grubbing capitalist? Two out of the three schools that I attended in Augusta have been or will be demolished to put up some sort of business. Augusta values education like it values the arts, culture or history.

This story is an excellent example as to why our society is so demoralized! Crap runs from the top down! This story officially confirms that we live in an Idiocracy! Let's raise our glasses shall we?report abuse
