I think you can put this on the same shelf as building a lighthouse in Gardiner.report abuse

A symphony in GARDINER???

I would take a survey first.
Call 50 random Gardiner residences and ask if they would go to a symphony performance.

Guess what a high percentage of the answers would be. I don't think many people will jump in their pick-up trucks and head out to hear a symphony.

It doesn't matter whether they are called a BAND or a SYMPHONY, they play classical music, and that's not too popular around here.

Point of fact-the American Wind Symphony is a BAND, not a symphony orchestra. There is a distinct difference-not only in sound, but in repertoire.

It's amazing that people line up to pay to hear people from away perform rather than support the local artists, and those same people are the ones who complain about jobs being exported, etc., etc. You talk the talk, but you don't walk the walk.report abuse
