a. It amazes me that some would consider this an eyesore along Rt 202 when you consider all the other "clutter" of growth and developement along the corridor. I guess if it is a another locally owned car dealership, gas station, fast food stop, or other low paying employer then it is "ok".
b. The type of infrastructure that is being proposed is of the "benign" type in which it doesnt need any public funds to support. As in Maine I believe that this equipment is taxed and as such is a revenue generator for both the State and Town. (Gotta love those taxes to pay for all the social programs we need!!!)
c. Maine has this notion of home rule but doesnt seem to realize that they are not an island unto themselves. Maine needs to come into the 21st century to realize that things do change. People are scratching their heads (and for people of lower IQs they are scratching something else) as to why the Maine economy is faltering. Yes, I said faltering as in failing.
d. After the Federal Court determines that the town erred in its decision and is forced to comply, will it still ask the company to pay its legal bills? Or would the town be so willing to pay? I do hope it goes to court because I am confident that the company does have some legla standing in this matter. I do hope that the town picks up the bill afterwards simply to ask those who opposed to pay for it. I am sure can find their name on the record somewhere .report abuse
