What do you think of Nader?
The Ralph Nader campaign is scheduled to turn in more than 5,500 signatures to the Maine Secretary of State's Office today in an attempt to get Nader's name listed as a presidential candidate on the November ballot, according to his campaign.
This time, he's running as an independent with a running mate named Matt Gonzalez. Nader announced his campaign in February on "Meet the Press." His campaign says polling numbers show him at 6 percent nationally.
What do you think of him? Will he be a spoiler or does he bring a much-needed outside perspective to the campaign?
If you want Obama or McCain to confront issues which make them uncomfortable, then you want Nader on the ballot as much as their corporate masters want Nader to go away. Only Nader brings single payer health case, the living wage, renegotiation of NAFTa and Impeachment to the race. The Bipartisan operatives fear these issues and Nader for articulating them.

Ralph Nader is a voice of sanity in a wilderness of corruption and corporate control. Many millions of Americans are supporting his campaign and are not willing to support the campaigns of people who stand for corporations and betray anything and everything remotely resembling the interests of the American people. Let Nader Debate!

I think the term "spoiler" is a cruel political slur meant to demean any candidate who doesn't religiously have a "(D)" or an "(R)" affixed to their name. Its next to impossible to break through the mass media other than being written off as some "fringe" wacko. But, looking back, weren't the greatest heros "spoilers?" What about Jesus of Nazareth, Socrates, Galileo, MLK? Didn't they suffer persecution? Weren't they demonized for peacefully espousing their just ideals time after time, despite losing over and over? They eventually won, and that is a big goal for the Nader/Gonzalez ticket: to be strong enough to withstand unwarrented abuse with the end of having your platform furthered.
On top of that, the "spoiler" label fails even the most basic logical fallacy test: either we're all spoilers--competing for each other's votes--or none of us are spoilers. There simply cannot be one spoiler and another non-spoiler candidate, etc.
This time around in 2008, however, I am confident that Nader has a very good chance of actually winning--yes, WINNING. He's been consistently polling at 6% for national polls (such as CNN) and in one Michigan poll has been as high as 8-10%. All this amidst a media blackout where camera crews jostle to snag video of Obama in Hawaii buying his kids ice cream. We have a spiraling economy, endless wars drudging on overseas, and the press excludes viable candidates like Nader for having a 15 second blip on issues that resonate with a majority of Americans: implementing an aggressive solar energy program, impeaching Bush/Cheney, corraling corporate crime and consumer rip-offs, slashing the bloated and wasteful military budget, etc.
He'll be on at least 45 state ballots come this November, and will be a true force once he lands a spot on the Google debate in New Orleans in mid-September. He's been a fearless crusader for all of us for decades, and its finally time to ditch the Empty Suit and the Perpetual War Candidate for the Real Deal: Nader/Gonzalez '08.
Best,

The only way to avoid living in the corpocracy is to vote for someone that rails against that control. Nader has ALWAYS pursued that end for the benefit of the constitution, and all of the people in this country. I'm not proud to be american, I'm shocked by how this country has ignored the transformation to ignorance. Dwight Eisenhower tried to warn us, control of this country is no longer the peoples', and if we don't vote our conscience now, when will we? We as a people, should display a society that believes in and promotes fairness and justice in this country as an example for other governments to emulate. This is America's responsibility.
Beware the military / industrial / corporate complex.
Vote Sanity, Vote Nader.

I will vote Nader/Gonzalez because I want the Democrats to know I exist.

I also am voting Nader/Gonzalez because in this race of deception and greed, only Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez have spoken to the PEOPLE and have proven accomplishments.
We can't say all are corrupt and then still vote for them.
This year a glaring difficiency tells us what we must do and that is vote for Nader/Gonzalez.

Its great to see so many other Nader supporters voicing their support for his campaign. I've always voted for him in the Presidential campaigns- since 1996- because I believe he's a man of great principle, integrity, and vision. Lets hope he builds enough momentum to get into the debates this time. So far its looking pretty good.

If Nader gets on the ballot, I'll have a reason to go and vote!

It feels good when you vote for someone you believe in, rather than voting just so you can keep someone out of office. Now I can sleep.

Consider this:
To those that are would be Nader supporters but are afraid that he will take votes away from someone else,Nader will get a considerable number of votes ireegardless. So, really, if you believe in his cause and do not vote for him than the chances are that he as your first choice as well as your second choice candidate will not win. However, if everyone votes their conscience will vote for him than he really does have a chance making this a real 3 way race!
