The two presidential hopefuls — Republican Rudolph W. Giuliani and Democrat Barack Obama — are both hosting fund-raisers in southern Maine in the coming days.

Giuliani will be at the Sheraton South Portland for a luncheon on Monday. A mere $250 will get you into the reception. But if want some face time, i.e. a photo op. and a ticket to the reception, it will cost you $1,000. And yes, that’s per person, not per couple.

The following day, Obama will appear at a “Countdown to Change” rally at 5 p.m. at the Portland Expo. Tickets are $23.

Don’t be fooled by the low admission price. The real fundraising will take place at a private party.
