New laws online

If your summer reading list is growing thin, or you’re having trouble falling asleep at night, you may want to check out the online summary of all the bills considered and laws passed this year.

Many of the new laws passed will take effect on Thursday cause it’s been 90 days since the Legislature adjourned.

The Legislative Digest of Bill Summaries and Enacted Laws can be downloaded for free, but a note of caution — it’s 1,111 pages.

However, you can narrow your search by looking at individual committees, so you don’t have to be completely overwhelmed with marine bills if your primary interest is education.
