Hello political junkies!

Welcome to a new blog that will explore Maine politics, and possibly touch on national politics from time to time as well.
It’s an interesting time in Maine. Even though we are technically approaching an off year election, there are five open Maine House of Representatives seats, and we’ll all be asked to weigh in on five ballot questions in November.

From a proposed Washington County racino to extending legislative term limits — with three bond questions in between — there’s much to talk about.
Gov. John Baldacci just proposed a controversial new plan to take over county jails. A new version of the Taxpayer Bill of Rights is hitting the streets.
And we’re 14 months away from a major national election that’s bound to change our lives.
Check back often.
There’s a lot of ground to cover.
