About the project
Worker The Maine Department of Transportation is in the process of re-habbing and re-paving the southbound lanes of Interstate 295 between Gardiner (Exit 49) and Topsham (Exit 31). The roadway is scheduled to be closed until the end of August. Southbound motorists will need to detour to Route 201 south for about 20 miles from Gardiner to Topsham. Other alternative routes are the Maine Turnpike or Route 24. Visit the DOT's web site for the latest news, downloadable maps and answers to frequently asked questions about the project.
